Christ et al (2007): Scenarios on China’s foreign policy in the year 2020+

Authors of Scenario Project China 2020 (2007): "Scenarios on China’s foreign policy in the year 2020+"
The People’s Republic of China’s (PRC) rise to a world power has long been in the making, and politicians, scholars, and the general public have come to see it as an important, established factor for the development of international relations. But who, today, can say with certainty whether and how long this tendency will continue? There will certainly not be any one answer to this question. The main part of the present article sets side by side three alternative scenarios conceived to developing some ideas concerning how and under what conditions the People’s Republic’s foreign policy will take on shape in the year 2020.
